The Taldem are a hairy humanoid species native to the planet Taldem.
Their headcones possessed electromagnetic sensors which allowed them to sense the emotional state of anyone they are near. This allowed them to exist in a state of peaceful anarchy. A few possess a mutation which doesn't allow their headcones to sense the emotions of others. These mutants are ostracized in Taldem society.
They were originally a fairly primitive species before they discovered ancient Inusannon ruins on their homeworld. This led to the discovery of new technologies which allowed them to achieve FTL travel. Following the colonization of new worlds, they maintained good trade relations with the Terran Federation.
